Nick Bawn is a British artist and art director who’s spent over twenty years creating experiential and digital design for major brands. That commercial practice – building large-scale installations that needed to connect with people, led him to something quieter: making sculptures that investigate natural systems.
The work sits in a persistent question: is he finding patterns or creating them? His sculptures live in that gap – between watching something emerge and deliberately shaping it, between what nature does on its own and what gets decided by human hands.
The connecting thread remains the same: what’s guiding living systems that organise – is it nature, us, or something else entirely?
